We often are asked how two lawyers came to open a homemade chocolate store. Our story begins at Yale Law School where we met. Back then, our only interest in chocolates was eating them. After a few years in the New York corporate world, we started dreaming of something more fun.

Deborah, inspired by childhood memories of her mother making chocolates in her home, suggested a homemade chocolate store. She envisioned an open kitchen where customers could see the candy being made before their eyes. Not only would it be entertaining, but also customers would know their candies were being freshly made with the highest quality ingredients. And so we set out to learn as much as we could about chocolate and candy making.

With a combination of hard work and natural talent, Mike made some of the most delicious candies we'd ever tasted. Others agreed.  We decided to go for it. Mike grew up in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and we knew it would be the perfect place for our new venture and for our family.

THE STORE
Deborah Ann's Homemade Chocolates officially opened its doors in September 1998. Located in the heart of downtown Ridgefield, Deborah Ann's is part old time candy store and part modern candy kitchen. The store is a candy paradise. There are dozens of jars filled with loose candies and all kind of sweet treats. The candy cases are filled with our homemade chocolates, as well as a variety of sugar free chocolates.

Behind the counters is where the candy making goes on, filling the store with the mouth-watering aroma of chocolates.

We hope you will stop by to see us. But, if a trip to Ridgefield is out of the question, we would be happy to ship our chocolates to you (weather permitting).  We spend a great deal of time making our candies and are extremely proud of them -- we don't think you will find a superior confection anywhere.
